Athey Moravetz is doing some tasty work with her 3-D printers. The video game designer has worked on Playstations games like Resistance Retribution and Uncharted Golden Abyss. She's also a self described "jack-of-all-trades," skilled with 3-D modeling tools like Maya, and knows how to design compelling characters with them.
However, thanks to 3D printing, we have seen several very unique looking shower heads pop up on websites like Thingiverse and Shapeways. One designer, JMSchwartz11, took the original T-Rex head, and turned it into a brilliant shower head design. This will fit any standard 1/2″ shower head pipe, and should hold up nicely. Just be sure to warn your guests before they step into the shower!
3-D coffee cups. These are espresso coffee cups printed out of Glazed Ceramics. The printing process takes almost a full day, and the One Cup a Day project aims to design and create 30 unique cups in 30 days. You can purchase their creations from this website where prices range from $36 to $77.
One of the problems with printing is getting a hold of things to print. You can of course download pre-made objects from a variety of places like Thingiverse; but if you want something unique and made by you, that's where things get a little difficult.
