A US tank crew posing for the camera from a foxhole beneath their M-10 tank destroyer, north of Marigny, Normandy, 26 July 1944. The men belong to the 703rd Tank Destroyer Battalion attached to Combat Command B of the 3rd Armored Division. The unit landed in France on 1 July, & saw its first action near Hautes Vents a fortnight later. This photo was taken in the intervening week, before the unit participated in Operation Cobra.
