An emerald and diamond art deco tiara necklace, worn by Andree, Begum Aga Khan III. Designed as a series of ninteen carved emerald pear-shaped beads on diamond pinnacles, with smaller, pearl topped spacers.
AGA KHAN III: (1877-1957) Sultan Sir Mohammed Shah. Imam of the Nizari branch of the Ismaili sect from 1885, a prominent leader of the Muslim communities in India. Dark fountain pen ink signature ('Good luck Aga Khan') at the foot of an A.L.S. to the Aga Khan from an autograph collector based in Malta, requesting a signature, 9th September 1948.
