Agatha Christie (b. 1890 – 1976) was an English crime writer of novels, short stories, and plays. She also wrote six romances under the name Mary Westmacott, but she is best remembered for the 66 detective novels and more than 15 short story collections she wrote under her own name, most of which revolve around the investigations of such characters as Hercule Poirot, Miss Jane Marple and Tommy and Tuppence. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, The Mousetrap.
David Suchet Reflects on 25 Years as Poirot - NYTimes.com - I agree - he is the definitive Poirot. He fit my vision of Poirot from reading all Agatha Christie's mysteries and I have loved his portrayal from the first episode.
When I was still teaching high school English, this book was one of my favorites to share with the students. Most of Agatha Christie's mysteries have the famous sleuths, Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot; however, this story does not, but it's still a page turner! Keeps you guessing!
