Walk in my sneakers empathy activity; Social emotional learning, social skills

Students will listen to given scenarios and answer the empathy/perspective taking questions given, attempting to put themselves in someone else's shoes. Great for students who are struggling to make and keep friends. This activity takes about 30 minutes to complete with a small or large group. These lessons were presented for character education on a weekly basis in 30 minute slots. The lessons are designed around ASCA standards and objectives which focuses on learning about cooperation and teamwork for grades kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd. They use a variety of multiple intelligence formats which is sure to engage all students within the classroom from videos, to listening, playing games, to demonstrating learning in an activity.
