A new discovery was announced today in Gotland by Dan Carlsson, Associate Professor of Human Geography at Gotland Allehanda. The 4cm long metal pendant depicts the god Odin with a horned helm and has holes on the sides, suggesting it was a pendant. This is the first discovery of it’s type in Gotland, yet it is virtually identical to another find from the historical Russian viking town of Staraya Ladoga. Original story here
