Like the use of prevalence as it is different from incidence but oft used like the latter. Do not like the disease references/comparisons. It is a disorder and/or differenc; Autism is not a disease.

This chart is good information about meltdowns. *** But please remember that adults with ASD have "meltdowns" too, although they are very different***. As an adult it's not possible to throw a tantrum so the issues shown on the diagram manifest differently. (And differently in different ASD adults.) What's needed is acceptance and helping that person decompress and destress before a meltdown happens. -- http://www.theautismdad.com
