Usain Bolt may have been the only athlete who upstaged swimmer Michael Phelps in the recent Beijing Olympics. The Jamaican sprinter surprisingly set two individual world records in the 100 and 200 meters and was part of a 4×100 relay world record Jamaican team.
Phelps had a spectacular performance in 2008 at the Olympic Games in Beijing when he picked up a record eight gold medals, breaking the 1972 record of American swimmer Mark Spitz. Phelps also has won more individual Olympic gold medals than any other athlete — a number he is expected to add to at the 2012 games in London. God bless, & best wishes in all events to 2012 olympic athletes.
14.1 h.h. Theodore O'Connor- Karen O'Conner's top U.S. Beijing Olympic hopeful for Eventing. Despite his small stature, this large pony ran and won against the big guys. Sadly he never made it to the games due to a freak accident unrelated to the sport... R.I.P. super-pony.
