This is the marsh saxifrage (saxifraga hirculus). It is called gullbrá ("goldilocks") in Icelandic and is listed as endangered in Europe under the Bern Convention, the only bone-fide Icelandic flowering plant on the list. The Bern Convention protects both species of plants and animals AND their habitats. Iceland signed in 1979, but made a special provision regarding the gullbrá - it is excepted from the convention.
