Forgiveness is a choice. We may not be able to choose to wipe away the hurt that someone has caused but we can choose to cast off the bitterness, anger, and feelings of the need for revenge and justice. How? Trust in God, believe His word, and turn judgment over to Him. Once we let God take over, we can start to let the negative feelings go. –Elmer Laydon

{Ephesians 4:30-31} "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God…Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice." {Hebrews 12:15} "See to it that…no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many."

Keep it to yourself - I think that all depends on whom you vent to. It's actually healthy to release bitter thoughts and feelings to gain clarity. I would suggest to simply be careful whom you choose to trust.

things don't go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. they happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were tended to be

So very true. Why hold on to the things or people who are just going to hurt you and not love you. God wants us to be forgiving, not holding on to bitterness or anger. God said to leave the 99 to find the 1 that was lost! Not to say, oh let them go they will find their way. I dont need that hurt anymore, I am letting go.

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. EPHESIANS 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
