Cape Verde Climate

Climate Reality Project, Cape Verde (UN in Cape Verde on Flickr/Climate Reality Project/Masakazu SHIBATA)

Cape Verde is a beautiful beach worshipers paradise. It’s tropical climate and pristine white beaches are now making it the place to be seen. My family & I are #Lays & beach lovers and therefore I am sure that we will have an amazing time at the beaches in Cape Verde, enjoying our #Lays a little more than the beach, lol. A great place to enjoy lovely #Lays moments!

Cape Verde is popular with holidaymakers as the climate is stable all year across. The cooler season is actually around January. That said the temperature hovers around 24-25c during this time which is just nice.

A hurricane warning has never been issued for the Cape Verde Islands. Until Fred, that is. http://climate.gov/news-features/event-tracker/wait-hurricane-formed-where-atlantic …

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Blades for the wind turbines arriving in Cape Verde, a small island state at risk of rising sea levels and oil prices.

Something rare happened in the Atlantic — a hurricane has hit Cape Verde. (It’s since weakened to a tropical storm). The islands off the coast of Africa lend their name to some of the most powerful storms the Atlantic produces, yet they themselves rarely get hit. According to the official Atlantic tropical cyclone record, which begins in 1851, Hurricane Fred is the first hurricane to pass through the Cape Verde Islands since 1892.

Portugal's unofficial national flower, the Lavender, is a specie of the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, southern Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, south west Asia to south east India. Lavenders are cultivated extensively in temperate climates as ornamental plants for garden and landscape use, and also commercially for the extraction of essential oils. Source : Wikipedia
