~DIY carpet cleaner for machines~ I just made a gallon of this carpet cleaner. Add 1/4 cup vinegar, 4 tbsp dish soap, 4 tbsp softener and 1/4 cup peroxide in a measuring cup. Stir it. Then add it to an almost full gallon of warm water. Then slowly add warm water to top it off. Gently shake the jug to mix, avoid suds and bubbles. Add to the cleaning compartment like you would normal cleaning solution. I made it for pennies. It worked great on my carpets and smells good too.
1 1/2 scoops Oxyclean 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/4/ cup Febreze (or other generic spray) Mix together with a gallon of hot water and add to machine. Any vinegar smell will fade away quickly, although my friend didn't notice any smell at all. worked great on dog stains and odors.
Carpet Shampoo Solution: 1 cup oxiclean 1 cup febreeze 1 cup distilled white vinegar Pour contents into shampooer tub and mix with hot water to fill tub completely. This will not only clean your carpets it will also deodorize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry. Be sure to test spot with the solution just to be safe, however this should be safe for ALL carpets.
