I recently had reason to watch Cast Away again for the first time since I'd seen it in theaters. This movie is incredible. That is all.

Cast Away. Without doubt, the most moving film I have ever watched. I cheered when he made fire, felt the pain when he pulled his tooth, and when Wilson went overboard I cried like a baby. The screenplay is a masterpiece. An incredible monologue. I treasure this film. It lives in my heart along with all of my other really special treasures...... such a saddo............

One of the original volleyball props was sold at auction after release of the film Cast Away for 18,500 dollars to the ex-CEO of FedEx Office, Ken May. At the time of the film's release, Wilson Sporting Goods launched its own joint promotion centered around the fact that one of its products was "co-starring" with Tom Hanks. Wilson manufactured a volleyball with a reproduction of the bloodied handprint face on one side.
