Clarice Cliff, the most renowned and collectable British Art Deco ceramist, active from 1922 to 1940. Given a series of rejected pieces of pottery to paint, Cliff - barely more than a girl - used the whole colour spectrum for her palette and when asked how she would describe her style, she said "Bizarre." And so Bizarre Ware, her first and most collectable range was born.
