This is the Maeklong Market, west of Bangkok, a decades old place of trade in Thailand. Vendors were so comfortable here that when the Maeklong Railway built a commuter train to Bangkok running right through the middle of their market, they stayed right where they were. A CNW "Scoot" commuter train rolls through Deval Tower which protects CNW and Soo Line's crossing on the northwest side of Chicago. This train is on the northwest line, coming into Des Plaines from Harvard, IL. While yellow and green dominated in 1979, hints of RTA blue was on the horizon, with Metra to follow.
