Most instructors suggest 5 pumps on your inhale and 5 pumps on your exhale, but research has found that our breathing is really never a 5/5 pattern. It is more like 3 or 4 pumps on the inhale and 6 or 7 pumps on the exhale - experiment and find your own comfortable but deep breathing pattern. I do not find any benefits one way or the other whether u breath through your nose or mouth.
