Japanese numbers: my brother had a beautiful white Persian (one blue eye, one green eye) named, "Roku". So I named my first cat, "Shichi". Neither of us knew how to pronounce them correctly, so we called them, "Ró-kuh" and "Seejee". Funny to realize this 40 years later!
Pysanky pysanky A note on pronunciation, despite what you may have heard on television, a supplier of pysanky tools or from an instructor in a local class, “Pysanka” is correctly pronounced “Pih-sahn-kah” with the plural “Pih-sahn-kih”. All with short vowels. The term “pysanky” is not, never was, nor will it ever be correctly pronounced “pie-SAN-kee or pizz-an-ki”
This is good information. And although I highly respect the women, I don't really respect any culture that makes women cover up their bodies to hide them. Just my opinion. But of course I will always be respectful enough to call the garments by their correct word and never disrespect any of these women.
