I have become a big fan of free education to supplement my not-as-free education. I really enjoy taking classes through Coursera and EdX (prefer Coursera), and love the ability to take a class through some top-notch schools and programs without having the burden of tuition!
The good thing about this list is that it incorporates sites that are not just cool, but also may be useful for self directed learning, projects or for developing learning objects. There are sites we would not normally go to when thinking as educators.
