1968 Daytona 24 ~ At the end of March, 1968, Porsche had four type 907 chassis ready, and brought them to the 24 Hours of Daytona. Fully developed, the 907 used a 2195 cc aircooled, magnesium alloy flat-eight with Bosch fuel injection, good for 278 bhp at 8700 rpm. The 907LH (lang heck, or long tail) was slippery, stonking fast, wicked hard to drive, and swept the podium at the '68 race.

2015 Daytona 24 ~ The Chip Ganassi racing team with drivers Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Kyle Larson, and Jamie McMurray Riley piloted this Ford GT EcoBoost 3.5 L Turbo V6 to victory at the 2015 race.

Bruce McLaren (far right) and the Ford GT40 Mk. II he co-drove with Lucien Bianchi to a seventh place finish at Daytona in 1967. A blown head gasket forced them to frequently pit for coolant causing them to finish almost three hundred miles behind the winning Ferrari.
