Tanzanite Crystal, The "Deep Blue" (. 8 cm, 970 cts) / (C: Marucs Budil Q: Malte Sickinger) Thingofinterest: Perhaps the best quality specimen I have seen, such deep blue & so pure. It was discovered in the Mererani Hills of Manyara Region in Northern Tanzania in 1967, near the city of Arusha and Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is used as a gemstone, and naturally-formed tanzanite is extremely rare, still found only in the Mererani Hills.
Beautiful hand made porcelain and stoneware pieces by Michele Michael, a home design editor and prop stylist who began making her own ceramics when she couldn't find what she wanted for photo shoots. Available from her shop, elephant ceramics. I, in particular like the cloth like texture of the ceramics, in this photo it reminds me of jeans.
