Early Sunday morning, July 23, 1967, Detroit police raided a blind pig on the city's notorious 12th Street and triggered one of the deadliest and most destructive riots in United States history, lasting five violent days: 43 dead, 467 injured, over 7,200 arrested, more than 2,000 buildings destroyed


The City of Highland Park‘s motto is “Return to Excellence” but when it comes to the old Highland Park Police headquarters, looking back is not an option. There’s nothing to look forward to either, as the building was put out of its misery (aka demolished) in January of 2012.
