Baudhayana discovered the Baudhayana Theorem, referred nowadays as the Pythagoras theorem. Baudhayana states: "The Diagonal Of A Rectangle Produces By Itself Both (the Areas) Produced Separately By Its Two Sides."
Make this toy-car racetrack with just a few simple cuts. Add sections from other boxes for longer tracks. Embellish with duct tape, then glue on card-stock- and-pipe-cleaner flames. How to make it: From the front and back of a cereal box, cut and remove a rectangle that's 2 inches in from each edge. Make a diagonal cut at each corner, and flatten the strip for the road.
On the Diagonal One rectangle running down the center of a long, thin yard will make a yard look even longer and thinner, but when set on a diagonal, rectangles have the opposite effect and create a strong sense of direction -
I LOVE this quilt and it doesn't look TOO hard....? 2" x 3" cut rectangles, sewn to 2.5" x 1.5" blocks in a sort of "running diagonal brick-layed" pattern... VERY PRETTY! Oh, and all Amy Butler patterned fabrics from a few different collections, too!!
custom shapes experiment. halfway through the image, my computer crashed, and i lost the diagonal shape i was using. i decided to continue with the rounded rectangle, and the ellipse tool for most of the image. a few gradients at the end.
