Today Jericho celebrates it's 10,000 year anniversary. The date is mostly symbolic, though the city is one of the oldest in the world, "with evidence of settlement dating back to 9,000 BC and urban fortifications dating back to 7,000 BC, predating Egypt's pyramids by 4,000 years."

Temple of Edfu is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile in the city of Edfu which was known in Greco-Roman times as Apollonopolis Magna, after the chief god Horus-Apollo. It is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt.
