Election Day is the perfect time to teach your class all about voting. This mini unit features everything you need to hold a mock election in your classroom. It also features comprehension activities, vocabulary practice, writing prompts and so much more.
In celebration of Election Day, kids at our hospital got to cast their vote for the next president and a few other key issues, like limits on sugary drinks and which is better, cat or dog. Complete with a kid-sized voting booth and mail-in ballots for patients unable to leave their room, kids experienced democracy first-hand!
The Presidential Election will be here before we know it . Since this is a very important event for the United States that only happens every four years, it is important to discuss and educate even the littlest of learners. I always love combining social studies with literacy so I created an Election Day Emergent Reader. It is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students.
