Cranberries are one of the few fruits native to the northeastern United States, growing wild in bogs and swamps. Cranberries have become a staple at holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving. Emerils Better Than Mama's Chili Mac (@Michele Brack Hokanson's alterations: add peppers, only do a pound of ground beef, plain oregano, I also don't add the jalepenos just because of kids, but I do add franks hot sauce or Sriachi sauce. It makes two 9 by 13 pans.)
This is the Portuguese version of a dunking cookie. They are delicious, buttery cookies. Originally from Sao Miguel in the Azores, my Av (Grandpa) on my fathers side was a baker for many years in Montreal. This was his recipe.
