Pangolins are found naturally in tropical regions throughout Africa and Asia. The name, pangolin, comes from the Malay word, pengguling, meaning "something that rolls up". A pangolin has large keratin scales covering its skin, and is the only known mammal with this adaptation. Now you know! Very cool animal, sad to see them hunted to near extinction.
Tell the Maldives- Stop Slaughtering Endangered Sea Turtles! Urge them to treat this as a crime, imposing fines & jail sentences, and educating people on the seriousness of killing endangered species. Despite international agreements to protect endangered sea turtles, the Maldives authorities take no action to uphold local conservation laws, and the endangered turtles are routinely slaughtered, hatchlings kept as pets, & nests destroyed for egg collection.
