We need to go above and beyond what is expected of us in order to accommodate diversity. In other words we need to move above simple tolerance of diversity, to embracing and celebrating the rich extents of diversity that each individual has.
Feminism~ What many don't get is that feminism just doesn't mean equal rights for just females, it means equality for all. Many people are too ignorant to look at the truth about feminism and just give it a bad meaning. Recently, many others have been giving it a bad reputation and just make fun of those who identify themselves as feminists.
This acrostic interpretation of diversity captures the essence of the word perfectly. If students are taught to understand the term "diversity" using this definition, then they should easily begin to understand the importance of reinforcing social justice practices.
Diversity in the workplace has to go further than there being employees of different backgrounds. Employers must strive for inclusion in the workplace to fully grasp the strengths and knowledge that each employee has. This leads to a workplace that values everyone's opinions and knowledge regardless of background.
Diversity: Every person that you encounter is unique to our world. This is true in our classrooms. Each child comes form a different family, in a different background, and have different beliefs. All of that is okay! Everyone is allowed to be different and should be accepted for being their self.
PIB Law strongly believes that diversity encourages and strengthens a collegial environment in which individuals with different backgrounds can collaborate to better serve the needs of the client. As our Firm grows, our commitment to diversity will include ongoing efforts to identify and support programs and policies designed to attract, mentor and retain qualified and diverse individuals.
