A half-tone newspaper photo of F-102A-15-CO, 53-1799, one of the short-finned aircraft, as printed in the Playground Daily News in 1961 shortly after the jet was retired at Eglin AFB and placed on display in downtown Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Donated back to the infant Air Force Armament Museum in October 1978, it was found to have too much corrosion after over fifteen years in the humid Gulfcoast sea air for preservation and probably ended up out on the ranges as a target.
