Frida Kahlo in the artist’s studio by Manuel Alvarez Bravo, 1932 I’m posting these gorgeous B&W portraits of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo because A) they’re all simply wonderful and B) there’s never enough Frida as far as I’m concerned. The Museo Frida Kahlo, also known as the Blue House or Casa Azul, in Coyoacan, Mexico City. Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was born this house and lived in it with her husband Diego Rivera from 1929 until 1954.

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in Laredo, 1932. Photo taken by Lucienne Bloch. Kahlo was a surrealist who twice married the artist Diego Rivera. Hers was a short but very eventful life. Thanks to Traces of Texas reader Jessica Lee Ray, who sent in this photo. I never realized that Frida had ever come to Texas. The things learned from the readers of this page! — via Traces of Texas FB
