"Watermelon Smashing".... Leo Gallagher was one of the most popular and recognizable American comedians during the 1980s. He performed 14 comedy specials for Showtime that have been re-broadcast numerous times. His first special was directed by Mike Nesmith, formerly of The Monkees. He was famous for using props in his act, including the "Sledge-O-Matic" to smash watermelons. He starred in several television comedy specials and was one of that decade's best known comedians.
