Before you toss grass seed onto those bare spots, soak it in a bucket overnight with some beer! The beer helps pre-germinate the seeds so they'll sprout faster. | Spring lawn home remedies | Living the Country Life
Grow your own rabbit food! Great website for all sorts of pasture grasses. This particular mix "herbal pasture mix" is a perfect mix for bunnies, containing timothy, orchard grass, alfalfa, multiple types fo clover, and lots of other rabbit favorites. At $6/lb, you can grow enough food to last your bunny forever. I plan on planting this in the entire area where the rabbit hutch, and run will be located, as well as planting specific herbs (cilantro, basil, etc.) in pots to rotate in with her.
Dwarf Pampasgrass: Growing just 4-5 feet tall, dwarf pampasgrass develops showy white flower plumes in the late summer and fall. Use it in the back of the border where you can enjoy the flower heads all winter long. Like standard pampasgrass, the dwarf variety can become invasive, so plant it where its roots can't spread. It is deer- and drought-resistant and tolerates almost any soil type.
