Ganesh Chaturthi is the Hindu festival celebrated in the honour of Lord Ganesha who is elephant headed and well known for removing obstacles and the god of wisdom. It is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi which is observed in the month of Bhaadrapada according to the Hindu calendar, starting on Shukla Chaturthi. The date usually falls between August 19th and 20th September. The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi.
