The Beach Boys are an American rock band, formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Initially managed by the Wilsons' father Murry, the Beach Boys signed with Capitol Records in 1962. Army SGT Thomas P. McGee, 23, of Hawthorne, California. Died July 6, 2007, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 546th Military Police Company, 385th Military Police Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia. Died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Wazi Khwa, Paktika Province, Afghanistan.
