Last January, I attended a workshop at our regional education service center. One of the sessions was about genre-fying your library, presented by a local high school librarian. The librarian told us about how she genre-fied her fiction section and the enormous increase in circulation her library saw as a result. Her enthusiasm and simple step-by-step instructions inspired me to do it myself.

Low Tech, High Gains: Starting a Maker Program Is Easier Than You Think - The Digital Shift - FANTASTIC article in School Library Journal about the maker movement in school libraries. I wish it listed more ideas for convincing administrators that makerspaces are academically rigorous, too.
