"Historic prison cemetery in Huntsville, Texas. Named Joe Hill Cemetery, approximately 3,000 prisoners are buried on its 22 acres. Three of the five men Texas electrocuted are buried here including serial killer’s Kenneth McDuff and Henry Lee Lucas. The land was donated in the 1850’s, and is becoming so full, a new burial site must be found."

Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville, circa 1880- talked about in Weston Family Series (books). Author Judith McNaught commented: "During the Civil War, the prisoners seeded cotton to be turned into clothes, blankets, etc, and I found a working prison to be fascinating. I also liked the nickname of The Walls. It was catchy and something I could envision as part of my heroes vocabulary."

Angel Maturino Resendiz, 45, was executed by lethal injection on 27 June 2006 in the Huntsville, Tx prison. He was dubbed the "Railroad Killer" because all of his killings occurred near the railroad tracks that he used to traverse the country. The railroad killer beat most of his victims to death. Resendiz confessed to and/or was charged with over a dozen murders.
