Dominic The Donkey (The Italian Christmas Donkey) was a song that was first sung by Italian American singer Lou Monte in 1960 for the record company RCA Records. The song is about Santa's donkey, Dominic (originally spelled Dominick) and how he helps Santa deliver gifts to all of the good children in Italy. The song is very cheerful and festive. It's not unlike Monte's other songs about Italy. Dominic also has a slightly comedic tone to it (which it shares with Monte's other works).
