Citation about Sakura (Cherry blossoms) from Nihon Shoki (The Chronicles of Japan - second oldest book of classical Japanese history, in 720) "Tenno Emperor riding a boat at the pond. Sakura petals falling to his sake cup."
Why wasn't this taught in American history classes in school? I did teach my students about this. I wanted them to know there is more to American history than what is written (or NOT written) in text books.
