Rasam is an Indian speciality which is traditionally made with either potatoes or yellow lentils. It is basically a spiced soup and forms a tasty mattress for a steamed fillet of fish in this John Dory recipe. - Shaun Hill
We chose this restaurant, A Travessa, to celebrate my parents 72nd birthdays while in Lisbon and arn't we happy that we did!! The service was excellent and professional. Menu was in English and the nice bald headed maitre d helped us with selections and any questions we had. Table was already set with tapas which was very welcoming. Menu explained that the tapa plates were 7.50 each...not sure what would happen if you didn't eat them as I guess it was a given that we would! Best of the tapas…
Yayness = It's mini Friday + it's Wednesday = Sushi & Graça at half price at John Dorys
This risotto is something very special. You will need a mixture of seafood – try red mullet, monkfish, bream, John Dory, cod, mussels, clams, prawns and a little sliced squid. You can either use bought fish stock to make this risotto or you can have a go at making your own, as I do here. (Ask your fishmonger for the fish heads to use in the stock – these usually go into the bin, so you shouldn't be charged for them).
