Pelagic Octopus. Octopuses have 2 eyes and 4 pairs of arms and are bilaterally symmetric. An octopus has a hard beak, with its mouth at the center point of the arms. Octopus lack an internal or external skeleton allowing them to squeeze through tight places. Octopuses are among the most intelligent and behaviorally flexible of all invertebrates.
Blanket Octopus - found in the open seas of the Mediterranean and the N and S Atlantic Ocean. The "blanket" is a defense mechanism, as they do not have ink to ward off predators. It will unfurl its blanket, making it look significantly larger and intimidating. It is immune to the poison of the Portuguese man o' war, known for its deadly venom. Taking advantage of their immunity, Blanket Octopuses will rip off the Man o' war's tentacles and use them to defend themselves from attacks.
