The Spirits of Islay: Eight Whisky Distilleries in Three Days | We visited all of the whisky distilleries on Islay, Scotland - Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Kilchoman, Lagavulin, and Laphroaig (including the Water to Whisky Experience).
20cl Lagavulin Spirit Still Bottle Support. Replica of the 'Pear shaped' spirit stills that can be seen if you visit the Lagavulin Distillery on the beautiful Isle of Islay. The shape is quite different to any other Distillery in Scotland. Each still comes with a little copper pail to sit at the base of the cooling coil (worm).
Dunyvaig Castle is located on the south side of Islay, in Argyll, Scotland, on the shore of Lagavulin Bay, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from Port Ellen. The castle was once a naval base of the Lord of the Isles, chiefs of Clan Donald. It was held by the chiefs of the Clan MacDonald of Dunnyveg.
Lagavulin Distillers Edition - Smoke and butterscotch, dried fruit and leather: This delicious spirit is what happens when you take an amply peated whisky from the Islay region of Scotland and age it in sherry casks, which imparts a deep amber hue and a winey suppleness. A special bottling that's not much costlier than the distillery's 16-year-old single malt, this is a scotch for the end of the evening, for contemplative moments, for a treat.
