Learning to Tell Time: Hands-On Clock

Learning to tell time is easier with a hands-on math manipulative clock. Simple to follow instructions for making a clock out of a CD or DVD gives kids a hands-on way to learn to tell time. Great for common core math.

This original pin says it's for sight words but I would use it for learning to tell time. Put the tick marks in before I made the copies, and have the kids write the time on the band and draw the time on the analog clock face.

A Teacher's Idea - and a good one! This is a very simple, low-cost way of learning how to read the time in digital AND analogue. We'd suggest building it into the daily routine, asking your child to show you what times they usually do things; or even alongside a working clock - set a time on the learning clock, and when the real clock matches it, it's time for a treat!
