Llama vs alpaca. A handy chart for identifying llamas & alpacas. Repinned by Elizabeth VanBuskirk, author of the story collection about Inca life in the Peruvian Andes today "Beyond the Stones of Machu Picchu." (Thrums Books, Colorado, 2013.) Website incas.org.
The llama is a South American relative of the camel, though the llama does not have a hump. Typically, they are saddled with loads of 50 to 75 pounds. Under such weight they can cover up to 20 miles in a single day! Cute faces!
