Sir Michael John Gambon CBE (b 19 October 1940) Irish-born English Theatre, TV & Film. Highly respected theatre actor, Gambon also recognised for roles as Philip Marlow in BBC tv serial The Singing Detective, as Jules Maigret in 1990s ITV serial Maigret, & as Professor Albus Dumbledore in final six Harry Potter films.
