Milagros - Milagros are folk charms that can be offered to a saint as a reminder of a petitioner's particular need, or in gratitude for a prayer answered. They are used to assist in focusing attention towards a specific ailment, based on the type of charm used. Milagros are also carried for protection and good luck.
Milagros means "miracles". These traditional metal charms are used to help that saint perform a miracle (hence the word "milagro"). There is supposedly a milagro for virtually every animal, every organ and every imaginable malady. I was smitten by the metalwork and repousse. This was a stealth shot. I got quite sneaky with my little spy camera.
