"The incredibly realistic and decadent miniature worlds of Satoshi Araki :: Satoshi Araki's obsessive attention to detail makes his work simply stunning. If it wasn't for the reference of the finger that appears in some of the pictures, it would be very hard to distinguish these miniature dioramas from real pictures of garbage dumps, bombed cities, or abandoned neighborhoods."
They may look like photographs of dilapidated neighborhoods, but the images below are actually incredibly detailed miniature models by 45-year-old Japanese artist Satoshi Araki. The artist's precision can be seen to the most minute detail of littered soda and beer cans. Araki even recreates a war-torn street in Baghdad, capturing the decrepit state of the landscape, not to mention the Arabic calligraphy and typography on the tiny newspapers and other trash that clutter the streets.
