I went into Gregg Araki's film "Mysterious Skin" as a film critic with very little idea what I was getting into. I had a general idea of the subject matter. Typically, when I see films with a central theme of sexual abuse I make an effort to ensure I can process it afterwards. This film blew me away. I'd always respected Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an actor, but this is where I started watching everything he does. This film is honest, brutal, unflinching, painful and mesmerizing.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeff Licon, and Michelle Trachtenberg portray the characters of Neil McCormick, Eric Preston, and Wendy respectively in the movie "Mysterious Skin".......

Film de Gregg Araki (USA, 2004) avec Joseph Gordon-Levitt : Neil. Brady Corbet : Brian. Elisabeth Shue : Mrs McCormick. Michelle Trachtenberg : Wendy. Un film sur la pédophilie, oui, mais non. Mysterious Skin, adapté du roman de Scott Heim, stylé, captivant, délicat, c'est le meilleur film (et de loin) du réalisateur.
