In other words...it's LYING and making certain that someone else takes the fall for whatever the Narcissist has done.Narcissist Mothers use this as their favorite defense and diversion strategy. Along with the Silent Treatment for punishment and manipulation or control, you can think of Scapegoating as their other weapon in a two pistol set designed to wound and destroy when needed. ~ A.N.

I have learned this from a manipulative person with borderline personality disorder... These people are hurting inside and don't act this way on purpose but that doesn't mean you deserve this treatment... Protect yourself...

Narcissism is not a choice. It is a personality disorder & is not curable. Some children of narcissists become narcissistic due to the trauma of having a narcissistic parent. Others can pick up some of the behavior / traits due to the environment they grew up in. Not all children of narcissists become narcissistic.
