He is the author of more than 20 books and has engaged in numerous moderated debates. White has also been an elder of Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ, since 1998.
Matt Chandler (born June 20, 1974) is the lead pastor of teaching at The Village Church, a Southern Baptist church in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the President of the Acts 29 Network. Chandler's first book, The Explicit Gospel, was released in 2012 and co-authored by Jared Wilson. In it he explains what the Gospel is and how it has been misunderstood.

The roots of the black Baptist tradition can be traced to three men: George Leile, David George, and Andrew Bryan. Ordained May 20, 1775, George Leile is recognized as the first ordained black Baptist pastor in Georgia. He converted to Christianity in 1773.
