Chinese Lantern (physalis alkekengi) is a fascinating plant. First, there are little white flowers that develop into fruit protected by larger, papery pods – green at first, but later becoming bright orange, perfectly resembling little Chinese Lanterns ~ it is an aggressive vining plant though.
