Parasol. Used for a very expensive parasol, this is a fine example of Belgian appliqué net lace worked in the form of a parasol cover. Parasol covers were made separately from the parasols and tacked on at the end of the manufacturing process.

1900-1910 Parasol Pug knob by Betaille. This parasol is an example of French artistry as well as an expression of the decorative aspects of the parasol. A custom-made piece, the parasol undoubtedly belonged to a pug owner, given the expensive amethyst pug knob with customized cover.
